Baptism of the Holy Spirit

By | July 11, 2017

Just wondering what baptism of the Holy Spirit is. I hear people talking about it all the time. How they were able to speak in tongues and prophesy about future events. Where in the bible does it say I can receive this. I’ve been told it is evidence that I am saved.

Baptism of the Holy Spirit isn’t some crazy thing like many are preaching today. Of course it’s evidence, but not the way you seem to be thinking.

The word Baptism means “to be placed down into”. And what are we placed down into?

Mark 1:7 And preached, saying, There cometh one mightier than I after me, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to stoop down and unloose. 1:8 I indeed have baptized you with water: but he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost.

We are baptized with the Holy Ghost. Our soul is placed down into Him. But even more, sealed until we’re redeemed by God.

Ephesians 4:30 And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.
