There was a joke that a brother told me that I want to share with you. It has to do with what’ll happen when Christ comes back and claim his church. The Joke seemed sort of funny at first until I got to thinking about it, then it troubled me. My friend said “I heard that the Baptist people would be the first called out when Jesus returns”. Why I asked? He said “because the bible say’s in 1Thessalonians 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:“
Boy, that’s some kind of testimony! To be considered dead. To be dead means to be lifeless an useless. How can the Lord use his saints if they’re dead. How can we witness to the lost if we have no voice because it’s silent like a dead corpse? I know that the above passage means that the saints that have gone home to be with the Lord will return for their glorified bodies. Yep, to be risen and changed into a glorified state, but the very thought of my friends joke hit home to the truth.
You might say to yourself that “I go to church every Sunday and that is what the Lord expects of me“. But the truth be known, there’s much more expected of you than attending Church services. There is a lot more than just reading your Bible once in a while. The truth is that we need to get out and start doing the Fathers business. We need to tell others about the gift of eternal life that Jesus made possible for us. The only walking dead in truth, are those who aren’t born again. That is if we get enough gumption to go out and do what the Lord told us to do. These walking dead would have the chance to inherit Eternal Life through Christ Jesus. Mark 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
Jesus took the time to come from Glory and die for our sins. Now that’s love and sacrifice! Why can’t we take the time to tell others about what he did for us? Come back to life folks!
