Why Go To Church

Parson, I just can’t find a church in my area where my family and I feel comfortable at. What should I do?

Looking Around in Atlanta

You keep on looking. The Lord said: Matthew 7:7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: 7:8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. Are you asking the Lord to help you find that church congregation? After asking Him, are you seeking it? Are you knocking on as many doors as you find?

And there has to be a real desire in your heart to be in God’s house. David said: Psalms 122:1 I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the Lord. Are you excited on Sunday morning when it’s time to go to church, or do you dread it? You did say; “I’m not finding anywhere I can be comfortable”?

Are you or your family not comfortable about the choices you’ve made in churches that are making you feel uneasy because of what they teach, or because of the preaching and teaching making you feel uneasy about yourselves? I can’t imagine not finding a church in a big metropolis like the Atlanta area. I know. I lived there for almost half my life. There are many God fearing, blood bought congregations in that area. Get out and look… Quit trying to feel comfortable and start looking for God’s will in your life concerning the place where God will help you grow in grace and knowledge.

Hebrews 10:23 Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;) 10:24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
