I need some info on how a parson is connected with the church and the roll he does in the church?

I selected the title of Parson which was taken from the old English, because I don’t agree with being called reverend. The Thorndike-Barnhart comprehensive dictionary defines Parson as:
- Minister in charge of a Parish.
- Any Clergyman; Minister.
On the other hand, the term Reverend is found in the Bible only once in the old testament. Reverend refers directly to God and none other. A preacher shouldn’t be reverenced, but respected as a man of God. The reverence belongs to God Almighty! Psalms 111:9 He sent redemption unto his people: he hath commanded his covenant for ever: holy and reverend is his name.

For years, this has been on my mind.
Let me put it like this: A “preacher,” is one, who preaches the Gospel. Whether you’re behind the pulpit or standing on a street corner, sharing the Gospel, with the unsaved, you’re preaching!!
During my first semester in Bible college, my Youth Ministry teacher said he’d like for all his students to go out and witness to people. He told us to keep a record and that he would allow 1/2 point for every person we witnessed to.
Two of my other classes were also in a combined method…You see, my New Testament Survey teacher required the entire New Testament to be read and my Personal Discipleship teacher required us to keep a record of our, daily, bible reading.
Beginning in the first week of September, and reading in the Book of Matthew, I managed to read the entire New Testament before the end of the month of October.
Also, because I’d chosen Street Evangelism for my Student Ministry requirement, I managed to witness to a total of 147 men in the homosexual area of Dallas, TX, before the end of the semester and, because Larry Lea allowed for everyone, showing up for the final day of class, to receive an inital 65 points in his class, along with 25 for reading a book, he had suggested and an extra for 73 1/2 points for the witnessing requirement, I was able to garner an A, with a total of 237 points.
Not everyone has a call to speak from a pulpit, but Christ told us to “Go into ALL the world and preach the Gospel,” and every one of His children is capable of doing that!
