If he commit iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men, and with the stripes of the children of men To whom does this verse of scripture refer?? Also does this verse refer to the birth of Christ or the second coming? Is.9-6-7 6: For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counseller, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. 7:Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this. [SW]

A. 2nd Samuel 7:12 And when thy days be fulfilled, and thou shalt sleep with thy fathers, I will set up thy seed after thee, which shall proceed out of thy bowels, and I will establish his kingdom. 7:13 He shall build an house for my name, and I will stablish the throne of his kingdom for ever. 7:14 I will be his father, and he shall be my son. SW, I see where your concern is because this passage does definatly point to Jesus Christ. It does not mean that Christ will sin but because He took on the sins of man Gods Wrath was upon Him on the cross. Isaiah said it plainer than this particular passage did; Isaiah 53:4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. 53:5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. BECAUSE THE LORD JESUS TOOK UPON HIMSELF OUR SINS, IN GODS EYES HE WAS THE GUILTY ONE. He became our scapegoat yet he was actually innocent of all sin.

The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this. is of the final return of the Savior and His Righteous Rule.
