Mercy
Ask your question at the Bottom of the
Page.
Q. I was at the Benny Hinn meeting last night. Many people were healed, but
there were many more there we came for healing whose need was just as great
as those who received healing. Why did God not touch everyone in attendance?
I felt compassion for those who came so far and wanted something from God
so badly. Why are just a few chosen brother? If I were given such a wonderful
gift from God I guess I would have had to stay all night until all the needs
were met. How bout you? [Brother Gregg]
Q. I have a question about healing why does God heal some people and some
He chooses not too? thank you, [David R. Brown]
A. Greg & David, My dad once told me of a preacher that was called
to a hospital to be with a little girl who was dieing. When he arrived at
the hospital, sure enough, the little girl was dieing and the mother was
there hurting deep in her soul because she couldn't understand. The preacher,
being a man of faith looked at the mother and said "Have faith young
mother, your child isn't going to die!" He knelt and prayed and loe
and behold the child recovered.
It wasn't the preacher who healed the little girl but the faith of the mother
and the preacher in prayer. Do you remember the story of the Savior and the
Roman Centurion? Matthew 8:5 And when Jesus was entered
into Capernaum, there came unto him a centurion, beseeching him, 8:6 And
saying, Lord, my servant lieth at home sick of the palsy, grievously tormented.
8:7 And Jesus saith unto him, I will come and
heal him. 8:8 The centurion answered and said,
Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the
word only, and my servant shall be healed. 8:9 For I am a man under authority,
having soldiers under me: and I say to this man, Go, and he goeth; and to
another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.
8:10 When Jesus heard it, he marvelled, and said to them that followed,
Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great
faith, no, not in Israel. 8:11 And I say unto you, That many shall come from
the east and west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob,
in the kingdom of heaven. 8:12 But the children of the kingdom shall be cast
out into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
8:13 And Jesus said unto the
centurion, Go thy way; and as thou hast believed,
so be it done unto thee. And his servant was
healed in the selfsame hour.
Now, it's good to go to hear a preacher preach the Word of God and I know
there are many great works being done in the name of the Lord. But a preachers
job is to mainly help you in spiritual healing and to serve you spiritual
food. His job is to preach the Gospel.
(Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and be saved.)
The job of physical healing is within you and those others who
need to be healed. Because within you, if you are saved, is the Spirit of
the Living God who can do all things. We, because of the Lamb of God can
go personally before the throne of Mercy and ask the Lord for healing the
same as the Centurion did for one of his servants. Romans
8:26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what
we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession
for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. 8:27 And he that searcheth
the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession
for the saints according to the will of God. 8:28 And we know that all things
work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called
according to his purpose.
We all can (if we will) pray and ask the Lord through faith to heal others.
Romans 15:1 We then that are strong ought to bear the
infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves. 15:2 Let every one
of us please his neighbour for his good to edification. 15:3 For even Christ
pleased not himself; but, as it is written, The reproaches of them that
reproached thee fell on me.
Now, also know that not all who ask to be healed will be healed the way they
think they might be. God knows what we need. Even if it is something that
we don't understand. Even a health problem. I know that may be hard to understand
but God's ways aren't man's ways. Paul even carried an infirmity. That didn't
stop him from serving God. As a matter of fact God new that this
"Thorn in the Flesh" would strengthen Paul. Read what this dear apostle
said about his infirmity. 2nd Corinthians 12:5 Of such
an one will I glory: yet of myself I will not glory, but in mine infirmities.
12:6 For though I would desire to glory, I shall not be a fool; for I will
say the truth: but now I forbear, lest any man should think of me above that
which he seeth me to be, or that he heareth of me. 12:7 And lest I should
be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there
was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me,
lest I should be exalted above measure. 12:8: For this thing I besought the
Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. 12:9: And he said unto me, My
grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness.
Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power
of Christ may rest upon me. 12:10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities,
in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's
sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.
No one knows the mind of God. Just pray for those who are sick and in pain.
God will do what God will do. And no matter what God decides to do for who
you are praying for, rest assured that it will be right.
One other thing that you might want to consider. The apostles never made
a big show out of the gift of healing. Not that it wasn't a big thing, but
they understood that if they tried to do these works in large congregations
they may get the big head. The Savior is the only one who healed the sick
in large groups because He is
the source of all healing. Matthew 9:11 And when the
Pharisees saw it, they said unto his disciples, Why eateth your Master with
publicans and sinners? 9:12 But when Jesus heard that, he said unto them,
They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick. 9:13 But
go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice:
for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
[Timothy]
