Death
Q. Do babies go to heaven? And what are your scriptural backups on the subject?
[Josh Lamb]
A. Yes Josh, babies go to heaven. Here is the first scriptural evidence I'm
going to submit to you. In 2nd Samuel we see where king David's newborn son
had died and while the child was dyeing David was fasting and praying to
God for his child. 2nd Samuel 12:22 And he said, While
the child was yet alive, I fasted and wept: for I said, Who can tell whether
GOD will be gracious to me, that the child may live? 12:23 But now he is
dead, wherefore should I fast? can I bring him back again? I shall go to
him, but he shall not return to me. David realized there was no longer
a need to fast because the child had passed away but notice in verse 23 he
says: "But now he is dead, wherefore should I fast?
can I bring him back again? I shall go to him, but he shall
not return to me." David knew that he was a child of God and when
he died he'd be with the Lord. He also realized that he'd be with his child
because that child was in Paradise.
Another good example would come from the New Testament.
Romans 4:15 Because the law worketh wrath: for where
no law is, there is no transgression. A baby doesn't understand the
law. Too young and hasn't learned right from wrong! How can a baby that doesn't
understand they are lost be held accountable by a righteous God?
James 4:17 Therefore to him that knoweth to do good,
and doeth it not, to him it is sin. There is no understandable sin
in a baby because they don't knoweth!
[Timothy]
Q. There is a fear of death that all have. Can you scripturely help show
that there is no fear in death? that there is just joy in the coming Kingdom.
[Anon]
A. Faith is the key to resisting that fear. Paul had a good handle on the
situation when he said in Phillipians 1:21 For to me
to live is Christ, and to die is gain. 1:22 But if I live in the flesh, this
is the fruit of my labour: yet what I shall choose I wot not. 1:23 For I
am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ;
which is far better: He realized through faith what was waiting for
him on the other side. He said that if he died and went to Heaven, it was
a far better thing for him because of the rewards in Glory, but the Lord
had work for him til he died. This is the mark of a true servant. Sure the
flesh probably feared his death but the inner man was groaning for far better
things.
You have a promise in the scriptures that when you die you will instantly
be with the Lord. That in its self should curve the fear within you.
2nd Corinthians 5:6 Therefore we are always confident,
knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord:
5:7 (For we walk by faith, not by sight:) 5:8 We are confident, I say, and
willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the
Lord. 5:9 Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may
be accepted of him. and also Luke 23:39 And
one of the malefactors which were hanged railed on him, saying, If thou be
Christ, save thyself and us. 23:40 But the other answering rebuked him, saying,
Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation? 23:41 And
we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man
hath done nothing amiss. 23:42 And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me
when thou comest into thy kingdom. 23:43 And
Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with
me in paradise..
The pain, suffering and humiliation that comes with this old corrupt flesh
has a beautiful ending to it. Revelation 2:9 I know
thy works, and tribulation, and poverty, (but thou art rich) and I know the
blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue
of Satan. 2:10 Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold,
the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye
shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will
give thee a crown of life.
That fear is of the flesh and the flesh has to be put in subjection so that
this fear does not control us. Galations 2:20 I am
crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth
in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of
the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
I leave you with one last bit of scripture to ponder on -
2nd Corinthians 4:10 Always bearing about in the body
the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest
in our body. 4:11 For we which live are alway delivered unto death for Jesus'
sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh.
4:12 So then death worketh in us, but life in you. 4:13 We having the same
spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have
I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak;

Q. Please help me. I have questions about cremation.I have found nowhere
in scripture where it is to be done. Thank you so much. [Loretta Morgan]
A. I don't seem to find it anywhere myself Loretta! If you are worried that
if we cremate our bodies when we die it will not be ressurected into a glorified
body. That's just not true.
Think about the end time when we are called out by the lord himself.
1 Thessalonians 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend
from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump
of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: If the dead in Christ
shall rise first think about all those bodies that have already turned to
dust that were the homes of the saints through the ages. This scripture doesn't
say that the dead in Christ who's bodies are still intact shall rise first
it say's the "THE dead in Christ shall rise first. Our Lord created us, he
certainly can put us back together in a glorified body. And the Glorified
body will not be of this flesh either. Let your mind rest that if God needed
these old sinful corrupt bodies, He would provide a way for them to be preserved.
This body (shell) that we are using right now is made of sin and God will
not look upon sin.
The Scriptures do not tell us that cremation is a sin. If it were we would
be told in the Scriptures! Let this verse ease your mind and if I missed
the mark on your question, email me back and we will try again.
Romans 4:15 Because the law worketh wrath: for where
no law is, there is no transgression.
[Timothy]
Q. What do you think of a person needing a heart transplant and receives
a heart of a pig, with reference to the scriptures and the Lord's will. I
think sometimes people will do anything to escape death and "it is appointed
unto men once to die and after that the judgment?" The Bible has so much
to say about the heart of man that I would like your answers or comments
as to how you understand this issue in light of the scriptures. [Lucille
Turner]
A. Yes, there are many who are trying to cheat death but there "is" only
one time appointed to each of us to die. Death should not be feared if you
are a child of God because Jesus rose victorious over death, hell and the
grave. This is what Paul said about dyeing: Philippians
1:19 For I know that this shall turn to my salvation through your prayer,
and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ, 1:20 According to my earnest
expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with
all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body,
whether it be by life, or by death. 1:21 For to me to live is Christ, and
to die is gain. 1:22 But if I live in the flesh, this is the fruit of my
labour: yet what I shall choose I wot not. 1:23 For I am in a strait betwixt
two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better:
1:24 Nevertheless to abide in the flesh is more needful for you.
Those who fear death so much are mostly the lost without the Lord. This is
not to say that God didn't give those surgeons the knowledge to perform such
an operation. If God gets the glory for the procedure, then well and good.
It is yet still appointed once for a man to die and there is nothing that
those doctors can do about it.
As for the heart of man, that is not referring to the organ in our bodies
but the spirit of man.

they shall see God.

Q. A friend of mine told me that there is a verse that says if you commit
suicide you will go to hell. I am not committing suicide or anything but
it would be helpful to know of this verse if I ever run into a person that
does want to commit suicide. GOD BLESS and THANK YOU. [DAVE PORATH]
A. Lets start off by saying that the only thing that will send you to hell
is rejecting the gift of eternal life that Jesus Christ paid for. There is
no where in the scriptures that tell us that if we take our own life we will
go to hell! If you kill yourself
"without" accepting the Lord Jesus
as your personal Savior, you will go to hell though!
Your friend may be telling you about another "religions" tradition that says
if someone commits suicide, they will be damned eternally but that is nothing
but mans traditions and not scripture.
