About

Originally established in 1995 as a dial up BBS and a Question & Answer radio show on WENR radio in Etowah, Tennessee called “The Parsons Corner ~ Ask the Preacher”.

  • At the end of 1995, “Ask the Preacher” began the internet ministry at www.coconet.com/~tj
  • In 1996, we moved the site to parsonscorner.8m.com.
  • In 2006, the domain parsonscorner.org was purchased, and here we are today.

My name is Timothy J. Davis. Born of natural birth in April 1958 and Born Again in 1967 by the Blood of the Precious Lamb of God. Ephesians 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: I am the youngest of the three boys born to William & Aretta Davis.

On January 10, 1976 I married my dear Connie Ann (Born Again 1967) and over the past 40 years she has given me five healthy, intelligent, and outspoken children. Ephesians 5:31 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.

Our Children: Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

All are now grown and have children of their own. How about that. I have 12 grand babies. Each just as precious to me as the next.

I’m a U.S. Navy veteran who served in the mid 1970’s.

We live in the East Tennessee Valley Region of the United States with the most beautiful view of the Appalachian Mountain Range. Romans 1:20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: I earn a living as a McMinn county deputy sheriff, an Architectural Designer and I teach Architecture over the internet. 1st Timothy 5:8 But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.

My background is that of a preachers kid. As a matter of fact, my dad, William H. Davis was a preacher, my grandfather, John Henry Davis was a preacher and my great grandfather, George Morgan Davis was a preacher. Sort of like Levities, huh? Actually these were men that were obedient to the calling of God and served Him with all their might. I only pray that I will stay in the will of God and follow His guidance in the Holy Spirit as my forefathers did. All of these men of God have gone home to be with the Lord and I was blessed to have known each of them in my lifetime. Luke 1:72 To perform the mercy promised to our fathers, and to remember his holy covenant;

From 1977 to 1979 I studied under my grandfather “John Henry” in the Word of God. Thru his teaching by the Holy Spirit I began to understand about how to rightly divide the Word of Truth. It was also thru my grandfather that I  began to learn about (Ancient) Baptist history. Proverbs 22:28 Remove not the ancient landmark, which thy fathers have set. John Henry went home to be with the Lord in 1979. In 1979 my studies continued after our move to Georgia from Tennessee under Dr. Marvin Frady, a dear man of God who was the pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in Smyrna, Georgia for many years. He was one of the finest teachers of Christian doctrine I’ve ever known. Titus 1:9 Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers.

I knew I had a calling to preach early in my life but didn’t give in till the Lord pointed it out to me in different ways, a few of them unpleasant, but Praise God for: Hebrews12:6 For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. There was just some things this old hard head had to learn the hard way. Thank God for the “WOODSHED” experience he gave me because as I received chastisement, I also received conformation that I was Loved by my Lord God, and Heavenly Father: Hebrews 12:8 But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons. I’ll confess right here and now though that I did run from the calling to preach, but the Lord knew how to bring me back. Thank God it wasn’t in the belly of a great fish!

In 1996 I publicly announced my calling to preach the Gospel. It was during this time the Lord allowed me the honor of this ministry, (The Parsons Corner) Keep the questions coming folks! What the Holy Spirit has shown me since this ministry began is priceless. 2nd Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. I was ordained in May 8, 1999 at Pope Ave. Baptist Church in Athens. This was my first pastorate.

  • Mark 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
  • Romans 1:14 I am debtor both to the Greeks, and to the Barbarians; both to the wise, and to the unwise. 1:15 So, as much as in me is, I am ready to preach the gospel to you that are at Rome also. 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
  • 1st Corinthians 7:22 For he that is called in the Lord, being a servant, is the Lord’s freeman: likewise also he that is called, being free, is Christ’s servant.
