PREFACE

I am blessed to be able to write a preface for such a well-done Baptist history and beliefs. I have known Tim Davis for many years now through his wonderful internet ministry, The Parsons Corner Internet Ministry and have had the wonderful privilege of meeting him and hear him preach. His heart for the Lord, for the Baptist Church and for spreading a firm and accurate teaching of Baptist beliefs is incredible.

As a Baptist preachers' wife, I have seen in many situations that many people who are Christians and members of Baptist churches have far too little knowledge of Baptist doctrine. Such doctrine was drilled into me as a child, and I am ever grateful for it! We had several courses in Training Union or Church Training, as it was later called, that dealt with Baptist beliefs and with the history of the Baptist church.

So many of our Baptist leaders gave up their freedom and even their lives for the cause of Christ. They were imprisoned and many killed for standing firmly for the crucial foundations of the faith. It is important to know why they believed what they believed, because we need to know what we should believe and why. In our world today many teachings and values are being watered down or even abandoned altogether.

Parson Timmy does a masterful job of pointing out the history and branches of the Baptist church (including much persecution against it in the so-called Christian community), many false doctrines, and a firm teaching about the doctrines that MUST remain in Baptist circles, and even more importantly, in the lives of Christians.

It is my deep joy to have participated in this study! God bless you, Timmy! This material is so vital!
